New CD Release – Evidence of Happiness

Sally Rogers and Claudia Schmidt are proud to announce the release of their third album together, the first in 22 years! Evidence of Happiness, named after one of Claudia’s latest compositions, is a wonderful collaboration between these very simpatico singers. Fans will be delighted by the whimsical combination of traditional songs, Sally and Claudia’s own compositions, and a few wonderful contemporary pieces, all sung with tight harmonies by the soaring voices of these veterans of the folk world. The album was recorded at Signature Sounds Recording in Pomfret, CT, only a few blissful miles from Sally’s home. They chose to keep the recording simple, which brings their luscious voices and tasteful accompaniments right into your living room, as if you were having your own house concert. Like a meal crafted of fresh ingredients, only a few spices were added to the main course: Howie Bursen on banjo and harmonies, Jeff Davis on fiddle and harmonies, and Yasu Suzuki on acoustic bass. Oh, and there is that glockenspiel…

Sally and Claudia would like to thank engineer, Mark Thayer, for his exquisite abilities in the studio as well as his welcomed production advice. They also want to thank photographer, Don Pike, for his photo-taking prowess. Neither he, nor Boo-Boo (the studio hound) caused any disruption to the recording process and Don has these photos to prove it.
